Suspect has to re-wash their laundry because they forgot to move it…again.

I used to ALWAYS be guilty of this! With my washer and dryer on an entirely separate floor, it’s so easy to forget to pop downstairs and move it (my washer and dryer are in our basement).

And with such a big family, having to re-wash a load only really sets us all back. There is always a new load that needs to go in!

I’m STILL a work in progress but I’ve found that a few things really help me to keep up on the laundry 👚

Things I do to keep up on the laundry:
-Set a timer once I start a load of wash so that I’m reminded to head back down
-Start a load right away in the morning with the goal of washing, drying and putting that ONE load away all in the same day
-Load the washer the night before with all of the clothes and detergent so that all I have to do in the morning is press “start”
-Sort & organize my laundry by priority! What will we need tomorrow? What do we need in the next few days?

We’ve all heard the quote, “You say you’d die for your kids. But would you live for them?”

A few years ago I decided to get back in the gym and start lifting again. I was feeling so discouraged with how I was looking & feeling and being fed up, I bit the bullet and held myself accountable.

For the first two weeks I would obsessively look myself over in the mirror. I’d weigh myself and compare before and after photos (that were barely days apart) because I just wanted to “look better.”

Around the one month mark I WAS noticing a physical difference overall. My pants were fitting better, and I was feeling more comfortable in my own skin. If I had let my “looks” remain my sole motivation, I likely would have quit that day.

But instead, I continued to come back because I FELT better. My mind was less foggy and I felt more alive and alert than I had in YEARS. I *wanted* to come back to the gym every day because it gave me peace and helped me stay sane.

I was more active with my kids at home. And I enjoyed going out in public with them because I finally felt like they weren’t running me ragged.

Now here I am, age 31, barely five months postpartum and *still* stronger than I was in my (early and childless) 20s. It feels good to LIVE.

As a busy mom I’ve found that finding time to GO to the gym is unrealistic in this season. Not only that, but creating a workout plan is also TIME CONSUMING.

Last month, me and my six children, with the company of my sister-in-law and my niece, all traveled down to South Carolina to await the arrival of our newest nephew/cousin.

Leaving my husband back at home was hard. The kids missed him a lot, and so did I. But we were well taken care of by my mother and sisters in law.

They cooked for us every morning and night and I just had to make a little highlight reel out of it 🥰✨

Can’t wait to share all of the details from our trip! I did the whole thing on a fairly tight budget and we had SO MUCH FUN!

POV: A stranger on the internet just commented and said that, “you must think you’re better than other mothers because you (insert reason here)”

For me lately it’s been…
“…because you home birth.”
“…because you homeschool.”
“…because you stay at home.”
“…because you are a Christian.”

And while I do not choose these things because I feel that they make me “better” than someone else who doesn’t choose them, I will admit that I do feel like my life is better off because of them.

My decisions to DO or BE anything in my life are strictly personal. I make them because I feel as though they are right for ME and for MY FAMILY. And I’m sure that many other women whose lives look similar to mine can echo that sentiment.

I didn’t choose a home birth to be better than other mothers. I chose it because home was safest for me and for my baby.

I didn’t choose to homeschool to be better than other mothers. I chose it because I wanted to be the one spending every day with my children, influencing and educating them on the things that matter to our family.

I didn’t choose to stay at home to be better than other mothers. I chose it because working long hours for someone else while a person who wasn’t me had my children felt too difficult FOR ME.

I didn’t choose to follow Christ to be better than other mothers (or anyone for that matter). I chose Him because my life is actually truly joy-filled with Him at the forefront, and it tends to start to fall apart when I position Him anywhere else.

So no, I don’t think I’m better than you actually.
But I do think that my life is better off.

I’ve had six babies and have always had them near their due dates, give or take a few days. Who would have thought that for my sixth baby I’d go almost 42 weeks??? The longest that I’ve ever been pregnant.

It worked out perfectly though because it was the first pregnancy that I *wanted* to “last forever.”

Still, there were moments in those “extra” weeks where I was like, “okay baby please come any moment now 😅” because let’s face it, we are ALL excited to meet our babies!
