Minimalist Studio Maternity Photography Inspiration

For my sixth pregnancy I wanted something very simple when it came to my maternity photos. When my good friend Janet announced that she was hosting mini sessions at a beautiful, minimalist studio space downtown I jumped at the chance. I have always felt drawn toward the chunky sweater or oversized button-up shirt over cute bralette with jeans, and that particular outfit choice always looks the best in a studio.

The photos turned out even dreamier than I could have imagined and we captured so many beautiful shots in a the 15 minutes that we were together. We even grabbed a few headshots while we were at it!

Let’s talk a little about the studio space! Located on the outskirts of downtown Milwaukee is Studio Collective MKE. The space was a wonderful size with several props and decor pieces to choose from. Janet ended up having two backdrops set-up; one that was a simple, neutral screen with the option of using a wooden stool, and the other being more detailed and including floral arrangements and other rustic-style pieces. The windows were unique and gorgeous, letting in an ample amount of lighting that is so vital for non-flash photography.
